What if the stillest water wasn't truly empty?
Inspired by the legend of Silent Pool in Surrey, this hand-illustrated print captures the quiet beauty and mystery of one of Britain's most famous haunted lakes. Beneath the drooping willow branches, a small ghostly figure gently breaks the surface of the water, a playful interpretation of the spirit said to linger beneath the pool.
For centuries, Silent Pool has inspired stories of tragedy, hauntings and unexplained sightings. Whether the tales are true or not, the peaceful woodland setting has made it one of Britain's most enduring folklore locations.
Created with pen, ink and soft watercolour, this artwork celebrates the quieter side of folklore, where mystery hides in still water and ancient landscapes.
